Team statement on bipartisan stock restriction expense – CREW

Today, a bipartisan team of members of Congress introduced the Restore Count on Congress Act, which would outlaw legislative supply trading. Following this announcement, staff Executive Supervisor and Chief Advice Donald K. Sherman released the following statement:

“The intro of the Bring Back Rely On Congress Act is a big advance in the battle to prohibit congressional stock trading. For years, staff has actually led the defend significant reforms to ensure that public slaves are working in the best passion of the public– not the best passions of their stock profiles. This is an issue that matters to a majority of the general public, regardless of what side of the aisle they fall on, and it is gratifying to know that a bipartisan group of representatives are interacting, listening to their constituents and doing something about it. This prevails feeling. Congress has to pass a congressional stock trading ban without delay. It’s past time we get this done.”
